“We’re creating a safe space for young people to talk about their journey; about who they are and who they’re becoming through the creative lens of fashion.”
— Joshua Croke, Cofounder & President
Threads: Woven Together
A program for high school age youth where students use fashion design as a lens to discuss personal expression, gender, and sexuality with the goal of helping youth on their journey of self discovery.
Threads fashion design is taught by Project Runway’s Sam Donovan and designer Rufus Dixon!
Discussing Identity.
In Threads, our education team works with young people to discuss and explore who they are, give them the language to express themselves regarding gender, sexuality, and identity, and provide tools for them to build resilience and pride.
Fashion Design Education.
Students learn valuable life skills that can be applied to their lives and careers including design thinking, communicating ideas, project planning, creative expression, sketching, and sewing.
Building Community.
This program is connecting young people in a safe space where they can be themselves, discuss their identity and personal journeys, and build lasting relationships in an environment free of stigma and shame.
